14th edition of Platforms Project opens today in Athens: over 1,100 artists from 22 countries, including Albania

The 14th edition of Platforms Project – Independent Art Fair, the largest international visual arts fair dedicated to the independent artistic scene, opens today, September 17, 2026, in Athens. The exhibition will run from September 17 to 20, 2026 at the Greek Parliament’s Tobacco Factory (Tobacco Factory–Hellenic Parliament), at 218 Lenorman Avenue, Athens — for the third year in a row in this iconic industrial space made available with the support of the Greek Parliament.

This year 66 art platforms and over 1,100 artists from 22 countries are taking part — Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Finland, the USA, Austria, Germany, France, Australia, Korea, Poland, Belgium, Turkey, Ireland, Brazil, Portugal, ALBANIA, Colombia, Japan and Romania — selected from hundreds of applications received through the open international call. Among the participating platforms is also “SATELLITE ZONE” from Albania.

The project is led by visual artists Artemis Potamianou and Michalis Argyrou, while the artistic direction and curatorship of the 2026 edition is held by Potamianou. Over 14 years, Platforms Project has grown into an international hub of cooperation and exchange of ideas among artists, curators, theorists and independent art spaces.

Alongside the main exhibition, a broad parallel program is offered with 57 performances, 14 thematic talks and conferences, book presentations, workshops, guided visits and educational activities. The accompanying exhibition “M#3, Moments, Meetings, Memories” is presented at the Lofos art project with 41 artists who took part in previous editions. The official opening is today (September 17) from 18:00 to 22:30; from Friday to Sunday (September 18–20) the exhibition can be visited from 12:00 to 21:00, with free admission for the public (upon presenting an identification document).
