20 Protesters Prosecuted, Police: They Blocked Tirana’s Streets and Disturbed Public Order

Tirana Police has prosecuted in a state of freedom 20 protesters, who protested last night in the capital.

According to the police’s official announcement, they blocked the capital’s main arteries and disturbed public order.

“They blocked the movement of citizens and vehicles, and disturbed public order, on the capital’s main arteries, namely the ‘Dëshmorët e Kombit’, ‘Bajram Curri’ and ‘Gjergj Fishta’ boulevards, ‘Wilson’ square and ‘Sami Frashëri’ and ‘Abdyl Frashëri’ streets,” police announce.

Specifically, the following were criminally prosecuted: Sh. B., 33; V. D., 29; B. K., 36; A. P., 49; I. M., 28; A. J., 39; A. K., 46; G. P., 37; A. Ll., 28; I. M., 24; E. K., 27; A. N., 26; S. E., 32; A. Ll., 20; M. Y., 19; A. B., 59; D. G., 50; B. M., 34; R. Sh., 22 and A. K., 29.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution at the Tirana Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, for further action for the criminal offenses of “Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and manifestations,” “Obstructing the circulation of transport vehicles” and “Disturbing public order.”
