2026 minor-league player of the year for every MLB organization
With the conclusion of the 2026 MLB season, the minor-league uniforms are being put away and it is time to highlight the most outstanding MiLB players of the year. The article reveals, for each organization, the prospect who delivered the most standout production during the 2026 season, focusing only on this year’s performance.
As Bleacher Report notes, the selection criteria were based exclusively on production during 2026: future potential, past performance or position on prospect lists were not taken into account, while the player’s age at the level where he played was an additional factor. Both hitters and pitchers were included, and only those who still retain prospect status were eligible for evaluation.
In the AL East, heavyweight names stood out: for Baltimore, LHP Joseph Dzierwa posted a 2.27 ERA and 149 strikeouts in 131.0 innings; for Boston, shortstop Franklin Arias registered a .320/.397/.551 season with 24 homers; the New York Yankees selected IF/OF Jackson Lovich with .287/.361/.512, 24 homers and 41 stolen bases; Tampa Bay was represented by OF Theo Gillen (.315/.419/.546, 22 homers, 44 stolen bases); and Toronto showcased 1B/3B Sean Keys with 28 homers and a .294/.417/.602 line.
In the AL Central and AL West several big promises stood out: the White Sox selected SS/3B Caleb Bonemer with 37 homers and an approximate .880 OPS; Cleveland had 1B Ralphy Velazquez (.293/.381/.555, 29 homers); Minnesota followed with SS Marek Houston, a .312/.392/.455 player with 50 stolen bases; while in the West, Oakland’s OF Devin Taylor hit .308/.412/.488 with 22 homers, and Houston presented C/1B Jason Schiavone with 32 homers and high stolen-base efficiency for a catcher.
On the National League side, names such as Atlanta’s OF Eric Hartman (49 XBH, 26 homers, 56 stolen bases) and Miami’s OF Brandon Compton (35 homers in 124 games) stood out as leaders. The New York Mets are noted for SS Mitch Voit, who showed growth at Double-A, while Philadelphia highlighted SS Bryan Rincon with .267/.410/.517, 26 homers and 30 stolen bases. In the NL Central, Milwaukee brought 3B Andrew Fischer with 48 homers, while Pittsburgh had 3B Murf Gray with .305/.402/.567 and 32 homers.
These selections reflect the most productive players of the farm systems this year and serve as a snapshot of the talent that could influence the MLB summits in the coming years; for the full list of names and specific statistics, consult the original source, Bleacher Report.
