An Albanian man has been sentenced to 10 years and 15 days in prison in Italy, after police found a considerable quantity of drugs during searches of his home.
At Artur Hysenaj’s home, police found 22 kilograms of cocaine, five pistols, a silencer and more than 200 rounds of ammunition. He was also fined more than 66,000 euros and banned for life from holding public office.
It all began with the Carabinieri’s investigation into the movements of the 47-year-old, originally from Albania and already known to law enforcement. The operation began on April 20. Searches of two homes uncovered the cocaine. According to investigators, the drugs’ street value exceeded 4 million euros.
