26 Armed Forces personnel begin intensive English course; Minister Nufi: foreign-language mastery is key to NATO interoperability

Twenty-six members of the Armed Forces will begin an intensive, professional three-month English-language course at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Defense and Security College — part of the Ministry of Defense.

Marking the start of the course, Defense Minister Ermal Nufi held an open conversation with the cadets and instructors, noting:

“In an increasingly integrated and multinational security environment, professional mastery of foreign languages and, in particular, the ability to use technical-military terminology accurately, is an important component of military personnel capabilities.”

According to Minister Nufi:

“This training contributes directly to increasing the interoperability of the Armed Forces with NATO and to preparing personnel to act effectively in joint multinational structures, missions and engagements.”

Among other things, the Defense Minister particularly thanked the instructors of the Department of Foreign Languages for their high level of professional preparation, dedication and the technical standard of their work in training the cadets.
