After SPAK’s measure against Vlora Hyseni, Begaj convenes the National Security Council on Monday

President Bajram Begaj will convene the National Security Council on Monday at 08:30 at the Palace of Brigades. The focus of the meeting is expected to be the security situation in the country, following the arrest of former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni.

The meeting is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi, and the ministers of Defense, Ermal Nufi, of the Interior, Ervin Demo, of Finance, Petrit Malaj, of Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, and of Energy and Infrastructure, Enea Karakaçi.

From Parliament, the chair of the Security and Defense Committee, Bledi Çuçi, is also expected to attend.

According to legal provisions, the meeting is also attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the General Director of the State Police.

Another issue that may be in the meeting’s focus is the new leadership of the State Intelligence Service. Prime Minister Edi Rama warned earlier that he would propose a name for the new SHISH chief and that he would consult the President on this matter. Currently, SHISH is led by Elvis Lila.
