After the Višegrad incident, Republika Srpska citizens organize support rally for Serbian students in Banja Luka
The ‘Student in Every Village’ campaign, with which Serbian students began a pre-election caravan through Republika Srpska and the Brčko District in Bosnia and Herzegovina a few days ago, has been suspended. The students, after the incidents they experienced, assessed that they could no longer continue the campaign responsibly. A visit to Banja Luka had been planned for today.
Immediately after the news, a call came for a support rally at the same place and at the same time where the students from Serbia were supposed to gather. Ozren Perduv from the ‘Pravda za Davida’ (Justice for David) association wrote on Facebook inviting citizens to gather today at Petar Kočić park in Banja Luka at 4:00 p.m., as planned, to give support to the students.
‘As a sign of support for the students of Serbia, today we will be at Petar Kočić park from 4:00 p.m. as planned. We will publicly apologize for everything they experienced from the regime in Republika Srpska and tell them they are not alone and that what they experienced was not done in our name. It was done in the name of and by the regime on this side of the Drina. They are in great fear. But October 4 and October 25 are very close. Nobody can stop the wave of change and light,’ Perduv wrote, according to N1 BiH.
The Serbian students, gathered around the ‘Student in Every Village’ initiative, had in recent days visited Bijeljina, Brčko, Trebinje and Doboj. In the Brčko District, police filed a misdemeanor report against them on the grounds that they had not announced the rally, while according to unofficial information police in Doboj interrupted their rally. In Trebinje there were no incidents, but they were welcomed by a small number of citizens.
