Agasi denies meeting Hyseni! Lawyer challenges SPAK and disputes the claims about documents in the car: none of it stands

Ergys Agasi has reacted through his lawyer, Maksim Haxhia, regarding the information and claims made public as part of SPAK’s investigations.

Haxhia conveyed his client’s version, disputing the claims concerning meetings with the former director of SHISH (the State Intelligence Service), Vlora Hyseni, as well as the documents allegedly found in Agasi’s vehicle.

In the interview given to Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha, speaking about Agasi’s position, Haxhia declared: “I am stating what I discussed with the client and he told me: none of those stands. The head of the intelligence service has never been in my office. I have never met her, in the sense of having ongoing meetings. What they keep in terms of how that institution functions is another matter, I don’t know that… whether it is a connection, whether it is an asset, whether it is in service… I cannot say that. I can only say that he challenges. He told me I challenge anyone to say: ‘I cooperated with state secrets,’ and secondly: ‘That documents were found in the car I had at home.’”

As for the claims about documents and materials allegedly found in Agasi’s vehicle, the lawyer disputed the version made public and declared that his client is ready to confront these claims.

“He challenges anyone over those conversations they have put out in the media or in public and says: ‘If, in my car, which was there, has not moved, as it has been proven that it is not the car with which the kidnapping was carried out, materials of the intelligence service were found.’ They have put words in Agasi’s mouth that he declared: ‘I had these documents and I left them in the car.’ No, that is not true, I was there in the proceedings. That is what he disputes. He says — the prosecution and anyone else — let them confront it.”

Haxhia also raised questions about the publication of some telephone communications, arguing that, according to him, they are of no interest to the investigation. The lawyer asked that any material claimed to exist be included in the investigation file, so that the defense can challenge it through legal channels.

“We ask that the prosecution distance itself, or if they are true, put them in the file — not for a complaint to be filed against the prosecution. No, put them in the file and let us fight face to face, let us have the legal duel with the evidence you have — but I repeat, I do not believe the prosecution released them, because it does not have them… They have made our defense, in our capacity as the defense, almost impossible. This version keeps starting, by doing things in public, the public is stirred up and then we have to clarify things for the public and then do the legal defense. For me it has become a strategy and tactic to place Mr. Agasi before guilt.”

Earlier, the court approved three measures requested by SPAK for disclosure of secrets and aiding the perpetrator of a crime, among them for the former head of SHISH, who is held under house arrest.
