Another Hull star in car crash on way to training
Another Hull City player has been involved in a car crash on the way to training, just three weeks after his teammate Sorba Thomas overturned his vehicle.
A Mercedes was photographed overturned on its side on a residential road, near the training ground of the Premier League club.
The player’s identity remains unknown, but midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath posed for a photograph with the car in question in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
In a statement, the club said: “Hull City is aware of images circulating on social media following a road traffic incident near the club’s training ground and can confirm that no one was injured during the incident”.
Humberside Police have confirmed that emergency services responded after the crash, in which injuries were reported.
“Officers and emergency services were called following reports of a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle on Millhouse Woods Lane, in Cottingham, at around 08:30 this morning (Thursday, 1 October 2026). Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the collision”, the statement said.
The incident happened three weeks after Thomas overturned his “Land Rover” while going to training. The 27-year-old was unharmed in the crash, which happened on “Millhouse Woods Lane” in Cottingham at around 08:30 in the morning. His vehicle, a grey “Land Rover Defender” with a personalised number plate, was photographed overturned with broken windows.
