Anti-drug operation in Tirana schools: dealers operated in 8 groups; 5 suppliers also hit
Thirty-one people were arrested just yesterday in an operation carried out in Tirana by the capital’s police for selling various drugs near educational institutions. Seven others had been arrested earlier, also as part of the same operation, while 14 more are wanted.
Klan News journalist Besar Bajraktaraj reports that those identified operated in at least 8 groups spread across Laprakë, Brakë, Jordan Misja, Selitë, Yzberisht, Allias, Tregu Elektrik and Qyteti Studenti.
Each group had three to four identified dealers. When one group had no narcotics, clients were directed to the other groups. The activity was documented through infiltrated agents and stimulated purchases, particularly for sales near schools. The investigation also hit 5 of the network’s suppliers, suspected of providing heroin and cocaine.
The investigation lasted four months. Police seized a total of 1.075 kg of heroin, 1.265 kg of cocaine, 685 grams of cannabis sativa, one pistol, 90 cartridges, 2 electronic scales, 12 vehicles, 35 mobile phones and other illicit items.
In several cases, to avoid the attention of police services on the ground, the narcotics were distributed via scooters, as well as taxi and delivery services.
