Haradinaj: We are effectively in elections; parliament should join citizens’ voice on the Specialist Chambers
AAK lawmaker Ramush Haradinaj said ahead of the Assembly session that the deadline for electing the president expires on October 6, stressing that very few days remain for building the institutions.
“The court confirmed that the deadline for the president closes on October 6. We have very few days,” Haradinaj said.
He accused the Vetëvendosje movement and acting prime minister Albin Kurti of deliberately burning time instead of building the institutions.
“All this time has been deliberately wasted by VV and Kurti. These remaining days are important for building the institutions, but also for responding to the citizens’ voice,” he said.
Haradinaj also addressed the verdict against the former KLA leaders by the Specialist Chambers, calling it unacceptable and unjust.
“The guilty verdict for the KLA leaders is unacceptable for us, for Kosovo, unjust, because the KLA fought a liberation war,” Haradinaj said.
He said the Assembly should use the remaining days even if it fails to build the institutions.
“The Assembly should use these days, even if it doesn’t build the institutions, to join the citizens’ voice — that decision not in our name,” he said.
Haradinaj assessed that the country is effectively heading toward elections, but said the remaining days should be used.
“We are effectively in elections, because everything is heading toward elections, but it would be shameful to leave these days unused, at least to stand together with the voice of the people,” Haradinaj concluded, as Telegrafi reports.
