Arrested for Wounding His Ex-Partner’s Father With a Sickle, the Uncle of MP Zegjine Çaushi Appears Before the Court

Bledar Bakaj, 52, arrived at the Fier Court, detained three days ago as a suspect in the violence against 67-year-old Erver Gremaj in Suk, Roskovec.

Bakaj will appear today before the judicial panel, composed of prosecutor Oljana Gjergjefi and judge Bora Shaholli, where the security measure against him will be decided.

At the Fier Police Station, the 52-year-old denied the charges, declaring that he did not abuse the 34-year-old woman and that he will give his explanations in court.

According to preliminary data, at around 22:30 on Sunday, Bakaj — the uncle of SP MP Zegjine Çaushi — went to the 67-year-old’s home in Suk and is suspected of having struck him in the leg with a sickle.

The conflict is suspected to have occurred after the 52-year-old went to the home of his former partner, despite a court protection order issued against him.

Bledar Bakaj faces the criminal offenses “Grievous bodily harm with intent” and “Acts in violation of a court decision.” The court is expected to decide today on the security measure against him.
