Balla’s case against Berisha dismissed, court orders former PM to pay legal costs

The Special Court has dismissed the lawsuit filed by Taulant Balla against former prime minister Sali Berisha, ordering Berisha to pay the legal costs of the proceedings.

According to the court’s decision, Balla’s claims did not meet the legal criteria to proceed, and the case was thrown out at the preliminary stage.

The ruling also orders former prime minister Berisha to cover the court and legal expenses incurred during the proceedings.

The lawsuit had drawn significant political attention, as it pitted a senior Socialist Party figure against the leader of the opposition Democratic Party.

Neither Balla nor Berisha has yet commented publicly on the court’s decision.
