Request for an investigative commission on KAYO, the Assembly replies to Bardhi

The Assembly of Albania has replied to the head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, regarding the opposition’s request to set up a parliamentary investigative commission into the activity of the company “KAYO sh.a.”.

In its reply, the Director General of the Legislative Service at the Assembly informs Bardhi that, in implementation of the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure and the rules on its organisation and functioning, the request to set up this commission was examined at the meeting of the Conference of Chairpersons on 17 September.

According to the reply, no consensus was reached at the meeting on the elements of the commission. For that reason, it was agreed that this request would not be examined at the plenary session of 24 September, but at the following plenary session.

The Director General of the Legislative Service also informs Bardhi that the coming week is a special week for MPs with their constituents. Consequently, the October plenary session is also entirely dedicated to discussing the problems identified during the week of activity with constituents.

According to the Assembly’s reply, the request to set up the investigative commission has passed for examination and decision-making to the following plenary session.
