Beach weather even at the end of September in Vlora, tourists choose the climate and the calm

In Vlora, people go to the beach even at the end of September. Autumn in the coastal city has brought tourists from different European countries, who have chosen this period for the favourable climate, the calm and the greater space on the beaches. The holidaymakers say that before travelling they searched online for information about Vlora and Albania, and after arriving they were surprised by the city, the coast and the atmosphere. Prices are also among the factors they appreciate.

“I am from Ukraine. I am here on holiday. I chose Vlora for my holidays because it has a very beautiful sea, a good coast and also a good atmosphere. I like the city very much. In the evening we walk along the seafront too. I like everything here, especially the food. I chose September for my holidays because there are fewer people. The prices are affordable for us. I will most likely come back again,” says one foreign tourist.

But it is not only foreigners who choose Vlora for holidays at the end of the first month of autumn. Domestic holidaymakers from cities such as Berat and Tirana say September is among the most favourable periods for a break, because of the lower temperatures and the smaller crowds. “I come from Berat because it is a beautiful place — what could you criticise here, the coast, the Lungomare that the people of Vlora have built. I come often, I see the change in the population and in Vlora. I come often, for three days, for four days. Autumn is very good here, there is nothing to criticise, the environment, the air has changed, everything here,” says another.

According to data for Vlora and Himara, hotel units during September had bookings of 40 to 50 percent on weekdays. At weekends, the level of bookings rises, reaching from Friday to Sunday 65 to 75 percent of the total room capacity.
