Berisha accuses SPAK: It stayed silent when Rama proposed the law that strikes a blow at the investigation
The revolt of Democratic Party leader Berisha over the amendments proposed by Prime Minister Rama to the Criminal Procedure Code also reaches the SPAK prosecutors. According to Berisha, this prosecution institution stayed utterly silent on these amendments, instead of being the first to oppose them, since, according to him, they undermine the rule of law and the investigation itself.
“Their silence means that they are part of the conspiracy being made against this country to destroy its investigative capacity. Now that Edi Rama has come on stage with his thieves, we are dealing with an agreement between them and Edi Rama. This is a disgusting section of the Socialist Party, with a trilateral agreement: Padrino, SPAK and the Chamber of Advocates. What is this — fining citizens because you are summoned to give a clarification, a testimony, to take a lawyer with you? Do you understand or not?”, Berisha declared.
To the media’s curiosity as to whether he had held a meeting in the VIP areas of “Mother Teresa” International Airport a few days earlier, when he happened to meet Prime Minister Rama just as the latter had returned from the U.S., the Democratic leader replied with irony and a quip.
“I was going to Strasbourg, where I had excellent meetings. He came back from America, where he met Pirini and Taulant Balla. Can anyone imagine me meeting a man who meets nobody? Never ever — I cannot even listen to him, I do not deign to cast a glance at him”, said Berisha. /RTSH/
