Betsy Wolfe and Joe Iconis headline “Broadway Nights Off”: two free concerts in New York
NEW YORK, September 26, 2026 — Two Tony-nominated stars, Betsy Wolfe and Joe Iconis, will headline the “Broadway Nights Off” series — two free concerts held on Mondays, the night Broadway theaters stay dark, at New York’s Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park. Both evenings are free and open to the public.
On September 28 at 19:00, Betsy Wolfe — known from “Waitress”, “Falsettos”, “Death Becomes Her” and “& Juliet” — takes the outdoor stage at Wagner Park for an intimate evening celebrating Broadway. She will be joined by music director and pianist Vadim Feichtner (“Falsettos”) and special guest Adam Kantor (“The Band’s Visit”), with stage direction by Tony winner Jeff Mahshie.
On October 5 at 19:00, the series moves indoors to the Pavilion Classroom for “The Joe Iconis Musical Hootenanny” — a night of musical theater songwriters, half variety show, half open mic. Directed by Joe Iconis himself, the evening invites writers of all career levels to share their new work before an enthusiastic audience, alongside a curated list of invited guest songwriters and surprises. After participating in the summer’s “Matchbook” Festival, the “Hootenanny” returns for just one night: hopefuls can reserve a free ticket and throw their name in the hat for a chance to take the stage.
Guest songwriters will be announced at a later date. Admission is free for both evenings; advance reservations are recommended due to limited seating, as BroadwayWorld reports.
