BMW Driver Who Killed 21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Near Užice Questioned by Police: “I Was Not Drunk”

The BMW driver suspected of causing the fatal accident near Užice, in which 21-year-old motorcyclist Marko lost his life, has been questioned by Serbian police. He is being held in 48-hour detention, suspected of a serious criminal offense against public traffic safety.

According to Serbian media, the driver is suspected of having driven under the influence of alcohol. But in his defense before police, he claimed the opposite — that he had not been drunk at the time of the accident.

The tragic accident happened Saturday evening near Užice. The BMW struck the 21-year-old’s motorcycle and, from the force of the impact, the young man was thrown from the bike’s saddle, losing his life at the scene. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident continue.
