Boçi: The opposition should coordinate its political action with the citizens’ protest
A guest on “Now with Erla Mëhilli”, Democratic Party MP Luçiano Boçi spoke about the opposition’s action and how the political confrontation with the government should continue.
The Democratic MP said the opposition should coordinate its political action with the citizens’ protest, while also saying other forms of political and institutional action should be used.
“When we invest ourselves and have invested ourselves, but see that the institutions do not act, we are in a total degradation of the institutions of the Albanian state. What should the opposition do? The opposition is civic and political. The opposition is already in protest, because it is part of the protest with its civic resources. We cannot take citizens’ causes and say ‘they are mine’, because that would be a fatal mistake. Today the citizens are there. What the opposition must do is the convergence of its political protest movement with the citizens’ movement. In institutions, in Parliament, strong political acts must be taken. There has been talk of a sit-in, a hunger strike, blocking the institution so that it does not function, but without a convergence of the citizens’ protest and the opposition it cannot happen. Otherwise we are part of the protest, with our hearts, with people, with communications, we are in protest. The acts the protest is taking today, the DP has taken them, but when we took them we were anathematised. The principles are to bring down the government, another principle is free and fair elections, another principle is a technical government. Rama does not want it, but they have found this way for him, a wiretap comes out, something, they withdraw support,” he said.
