Caught transporting 4 migrants by vehicle, two foreigners arrested in Shkodër

Two people were arrested by the police on the Shkodër-Hani i Hotit road axis. The police announce that their arrest came after they were caught transporting by vehicle 4 people from Afghanistan. They aimed to cross illegally into Montenegro.

It is also announced that the arrested are foreigners, a Turk and an Azerbaijani. The police have seized the vehicle with which the migrants were being transported.

2 foreign citizens are arrested in flagrance, who were caught transporting by vehicle 4 citizens from Afghanistan, who aimed to cross illegally into Montenegro.

The vehicle with which the migrants were being transported is seized.

The services of the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Shkodër, in continuation of the intensive controls for the prevention and striking of the criminal activity of giving aid to foreign citizens for illegal border crossing, based also on the information provided through operational routes, organized and finalized the codenamed operation ‘Transit 2’.

As a result of the operation, the Azerbaijani citizen M. A., 59 years old, and the Turkish citizen C. D., 36 years old, were arrested.

During the operation, the Border Police services have stopped, on the ‘Shkodër-Hani i Hotit’ road axis, the vehicle with driver citizen C. D. and passenger citizen M. A. (owner of the vehicle), with which they were transporting, against payment, 4 citizens from Afghanistan, who are suspected to have aimed to illegally cross the state border with Montenegro.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Shkodër, for further actions,” the police announce.
