Caught transporting 7 illegal migrants, 32-year-old arrested; accomplice wanted

A 32-year-old was put in handcuffs this Saturday by Korçë police, after being caught in flagrante delicto assisting several migrants in illegally crossing the border toward Montenegro, for profit.

According to police reports, Klodjan Pashaj, 32, was arrested, while his accomplice, E. M., 41, has been declared wanted.

The two, in the village of Drenovë, were transporting by vehicle toward Tirana 7 foreign nationals, 2 from Bangladesh and 5 from Somalia, who had entered Albania illegally from Kapshticë and intended to cross illegally into Montenegro.

The Investigation Section and ZMPKT of the Korçë DVKM, as part of the operation, arrested in flagrante delicto citizen K. P., 32, resident of Peqin, for the criminal offense of “Assistance for illegal border crossing” and declared wanted citizen E. M., 41, resident of the village of Taç, Ersekë, for the criminal offenses of “Assistance for illegal border crossing” and “Disobedience to the order of a Public Order Police employee.”

Citizen K. P. was caught by Police services, during the operation, in the village of Drenovë, Korçë, transporting by vehicle toward Tirana 7 foreign nationals (2 from Bangladesh, 5 from Somalia), who had entered Albania illegally from Kapshticë and intended to cross illegally into Montenegro.

Work continues on capturing the 41-year-old, who was checking the road and did not obey Police services at the moment he was signaled to stop, but continued driving, managing to flee. After several hours of searching, it was possible to find the vehicle, which was seized as material evidence.

Work continues on fully documenting this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korçë.
