German ambassador congratulates Kurti on re-election: we expect the dialogue with Serbia to resume
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received a congratulatory letter from the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph, on the occasion of his re-election as prime minister.
In the letter dated September 25, 2026, Rudolph conveys his “sincere congratulations” on the re-election and stresses that Germany and Kosovo are bound by close and lasting relations.
The German ambassador underlines that Germany sees Kosovo as an important partner in the Western Balkans and expresses readiness to support the region’s stability, reforms and European perspective.
The Kosovo–Serbia dialogue is a particular focus. Rudolph says the EU-led dialogue remains essential for long-term stability in the Western Balkans and expresses hope that Kurti’s government will commit to a swift resumption of the dialogue and to reaching “practical, reciprocal, respectful and sustainable” agreements.
The German letter comes at a time when Kurti has also received other congratulatory messages following his re-election. The Prime Minister’s Office recently confirmed the receipt of a congratulatory letter from US Congressman George Latimer as well.
Kurti has also received congratulations from Montenegro and North Macedonia, adding to the list of countries that have reacted following the formation of Kosovo’s new institutions, as Telegrafi reports.
