Changes at the Top of Chelsea: President Todd Boehly Departs
Clearlake Capital has bought out the stakes held by Todd Boehly and Mark Walter in a deal valuing the club at £5 billion. The name of the new president has not yet been revealed.
Major changes at the top of Chelsea. Clearlake Capital has acquired the entire shareholding previously held by Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, taking its stake in the London club to 86.5%. The move also marks the exit of Boehly, who served as president of the Blues.
The sale, announced by the club in an official statement, values the club at a total of £5 billion, while the name of the club’s new president has not yet been disclosed.
The buying fund confirmed it intends to continue with the existing strategic plan. Boehly said after his departure: “It was an honor to serve as president of Chelsea Football Club. I have great confidence that the club is well positioned to continue its success under Clearlake’s leadership.”
