Christine Dwyer opens the new ‘Janice Jam’ concert residency in New York’s Times Square

Broadway’s charity concert “The Janice Jam”, founded in 2023 by actor Matt DeAngelis in memory of his mother Janice, who passed away from metastatic breast cancer in 2022, is taking on a new format. As Playbill reports, the bimonthly concert series turns into a residency named “Broadway Tuesdays: Piano Takeover” at the Paramount Times Square – A Generator Hotel, in the heart of New York’s Theatre District.

The inaugural evening, on October 6, will bring pianists Donnie Kehr and Elijah Caldwell in two consecutive sets of 90 minutes each, closing with a finale featuring special guest performances — co-founder Christine Dwyer and Matt DeAngelis himself.

“We wanted to create a space where the theatre district truly feels at home,” executive producer DeAngelis said in a statement. “By partnering with Paramount Times Square – A Generator Hotel, we can offer a regular stage for extraordinary performers, while continuing our mission to support life-saving research through the BCRF,” he added, according to Playbill.

As in the previous series, all proceeds from the evenings will support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation; direct donations can be made at BCRF.org. The series is produced by DeAngelis, Bryan Campione, Christine Dwyer, Alex Temple Ward and Marti Cummings, with the support of volunteers and interns of #TeamJanice.

The Janice Jam has so far raised over $300,000 for breast cancer research — the fourth annual concert alone, held in May 2026 at Sony Hall, raised over $143,000 — and over the years it has brought Broadway stars such as Ariana DeBose, Jeremy Jordan, Audra McDonald and Jonathan Groff to the stage.
