‘Christmas by Candlelight’ lands at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland: West End stars in six festive concerts this December

The festive concerts ‘Christmas by Candlelight’ will open this winter at London’s Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, as BroadwayWorld reports. The shows will be held from December 5 to 23, 2026, in the purpose-built ‘Candlelight Arena’ with 1,000 seats, inside the festival’s ‘Show Town’ area, with a gala evening on December 5.

Taking the stage will be some of the West End’s brightest stars: Rachel John, known from ‘Hamilton’ at the Victoria Palace Theatre; Dean John-Wilson from ‘Aladdin’ at the Prince Edward Theatre; Katie Hall from ‘Cabaret’ at the Kit Kat Club; and Tosh Wanogho-Maud from ‘Kinky Boots’ at the London Coliseum. They will be accompanied by a live band for sing-along evenings with the best-loved Christmas songs — from ‘White Christmas’ to ‘Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!’, ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’.

‘After two years of completely sold-out shows in the West End with “Christmas by Candlelight”, we are very excited to bring the West End to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland this Christmas for six very special performances,’ said Daniel Wood, according to BroadwayWorld. ‘These shows will be so magical and festive, in one of our purpose-built, fully immersive candlelit arenas — the atmosphere will be electric!’ added Simon Gordon.

Suzy Griffiths, vice president and head of UK events for arts and entertainment at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, said the organisers are ‘thrilled’ to welcome Concerts by Candlelight this season, with a programme of talented artists who will give visitors ‘a truly magical and unforgettable festive experience’.

Tickets for all six concerts go on sale today, Wednesday September 30, at noon. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is London’s great annual festive festival, which takes over Hyde Park for six weeks in the run-up to Christmas and New Year — and this year, for the first time, the candlelit stage joins its programme.
