Clark “explodes” at the Specialist Chambers: Enough, the Court should return Thaçi and the others to Kosovo

Former general Wesley Clark has demanded that Hashim Thaçi and the others return to Kosovo as soon as possible.

He said Europe should respect the people of Kosovo, while stressing that, in his view, Hashim Thaçi is a “victim” of a flawed process.

“Europe should respect the people of Kosovo, who fought for principles. Milošević was responsible. He was a person who wanted to promote ethnic cleansing. Hashim Thaçi is a victim and this is wrong,” Clark said.

The former American general also said he had asked for evidence regarding the charges against Thaçi, but, according to him, he had seen no such evidence.

Clark also referred to the period of the war in Kosovo, stressing that at that time, in his view, there was evidence of murderous actions by the former Yugoslavia and that authorities had taken steps against persons suspected of war crimes.

He stressed that the Hague Tribunal for war crimes in the former Yugoslavia was fairer than the Specialist Court, since, according to him, its decisions were based on real evidence.

I think it was, because at that time there was real evidence of the wrong actions that were committed. We presented information at that time. They arrested some war criminals. I think the court has run its course. Let us bring Hashim Thaçi and the others back to Kosovo, and let them return to their lives. Let us move forward. Hashim Thaçi has spent 5 years in detention. Enough is enough,” he said.

Asked whether he would be ready to testify on appeal in favour of the former KLA leaders, the former general replied:

“I would greatly appreciate it if they invited me to explain what happened,” he said, as Tv Klan reports.
