‘Clean Schools’ in Tirana | 28-year-old arrested, 235 doses of cocaine and 2 pistols seized

A 28-year-old has been arrested by Tirana police, accused of selling narcotics near educational institutions.

In the young man’s apartment, police found and seized two firearms (pistols) and combat ammunition, which he possessed without a permit, 363 grams of suspected narcotic substance cocaine, divided into 235 doses, allegedly for the purpose of sale, as well as 1 electronic scale.

“The 28-year-old was wanted, as the Court of Tirana, within the coded operation ‘Clean Schools’, assigned him the security measure ‘Arrest in prison’, for the criminal offense ‘Production and sale of narcotics’.

Work is underway to clarify and document the 28-year-old’s involvement in criminal activity, as well as to capture all citizens declared wanted within the coded operation ‘Clean Schools’,” the police announce.

During the last operation, police arrested 31 people and declared 14 others wanted. Seven others have been arrested earlier. The identified persons operated in at least 8 groups spread across Laprakë, Brakë, Jordan Misja, Selitë, Yzberisht, Allias, Tregu Elektrik and Qyteti Studenti.

In each group, three to four sellers had been identified. When a group had no narcotics, clients were directed to other groups. The activity was documented through infiltrated agents and staged purchases, especially for sales near schools. The investigation has also hit 5 suppliers of the network, suspected of providing heroin and cocaine.

The investigations have lasted for 4 months. In total, police have seized 1 kg and 75 grams of heroin, 1 kg and 265 grams of cocaine, 685 grams of Cannabis Sativa, 1 pistol firearm, 90 cartridges, 2 electronic scales, 12 vehicles, 35 mobile phones and other illegal items.

In some cases, to avoid the attention of police services in the field, the narcotics were distributed via kick scooters, as well as taxi and delivery services.
