CRTA: Vučić wants to discredit us as witnesses of election fraud — he calls us “participants in the colour revolution”

The CRTA observation mission announced today that the head of the electoral list of the coalition around the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vučić, wants to discredit the non-governmental organisation as an observer of the early parliamentary elections of 25 October — that is, to “compromise it as a witness of possible election fraud”, according to a report by the Serbian portal Danas.

In a Facebook post, CRTA says that in recent days alone Vučić accused it several times of not being an objective election observer, but a “participant in the colour revolution”, Danas writes.

CRTA (the Centre for Research, Transparency and Accountability) adds that “it has been proven that he cannot be trusted” and published on Facebook fact-checks of his claims: “Long is the list of his claims that fact-checking has found to be untrue.”

Serbia’s early parliamentary elections are held on 25 October, and CRTA is one of the main domestic organisations for election observation. Its statement comes at the height of the election campaign, after Vučić resigned as president in order to run for prime minister.
