Cultural heritage institute and Bektashi World Headquarters agree cooperation on protecting heritage

Representatives of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (IKTK) and Baba Mondi, the World Bektashi Leader, met at the premises of the Bektashi World Headquarters.

At the center of the meeting was institutional cooperation for the preservation, conservation and restoration of Bektashi heritage assets. During the talks, attention focused on two monuments of importance to the Bektashis: “Vendi i Mirë Ballëm Sulltan (Guva)”, near the Old Tekke in Ballenjë, Martanesh, as well as the tekke in the village of Pesh.

IKTK and Baba Mondi discussed the current state of these sites, the problems identified and the possibilities for intervention, aiming to improve access and security, water management and the preservation of the monuments’ authentic values.

IKTK announced that, together with the Bektashi World Headquarters, it will continue coordination and cooperation to protect and pass on this precious cultural heritage to future generations.
