Dan Wilson will not return as Mariners manager in 2027 after missing the 2026 MLB playoffs

According to Bleacher Report, Seattle announced Sunday that manager Dan Wilson will not return to the post for the 2027 season. Wilson took over in August 2024 after Scott Servais’s departure; in his first full season the Mariners won the AL West title at 90-76 and reached the ALCS, where they were beaten by the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games. The news had been foreshadowed earlier by the Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish.

With this decision, the organization will begin the search for a new manager — the third in the last four seasons. The club is expected to focus on finding a leader who can bring stability and return the team to the expected competitive levels.
