Day 11 of protests in Pristina: justice demanded for former KLA leaders
A large number of citizens gathered Saturday evening in “Skënderbeu” square in Pristina to protest the verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, under the motto “Not in my name”.
The protest began at around 21:00, while participants voiced messages for justice and called on Kosovo’s institutions to take steps regarding the guilty verdict.
This is the 11th day of protests held in Pristina against the Specialist Chambers’ decision.
In the verdict announced on September 16, four former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army — Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi — were sentenced to a total of 81 years in prison.
The protests of recent days have been accompanied by citizens opposing the verdict and demanding justice for the former KLA leaders.
The “Not in my name” protest continues tonight in “Skënderbeu” square in the capital, Telegrafi reports.
