Debate at the Conference of Chairpersons: DP Calls for KAYO Inquiry Commission, Majority Votes It Down! Bardhi Accuses the Government
The Democratic Party today (September 17) demanded the establishment of an Inquiry Commission on the activity of KAYO, but the majority rejected the request by force of the card at the Conference of Chairpersons.
“Every Albanian must know how Edi Rama’s friend, Ron Yefet, got that money,” said Gazment Bardhi, head of the DP parliamentary group, at the Conference of Chairpersons.
According to him, an Inquiry Commission aims to collect and verify information. Bardhi said the opposition’s request presented the information and indications related to KAYO’s activity.
“It is a fact that KAYO has so far spent 34 million euros from the state budget without producing anything. We do not know what the state has benefited, what activity it has,” Bardhi said, raising questions about the company’s relations with private partners.
He also referred to the wiretaps made public, claiming they speak of arms trafficking and arms sales to countries in conflict.
Bardhi said the opposition has long requested information from the Ministry of Defense on KAYO’s activity, contracts and agreements with private companies.
