Driver Falls Asleep at the Wheel: Car Crashes Into Barriers on Elbasan–Peqin Road; Woman and Child Injured

A road accident was recorded this Friday morning on the Elbasan–Peqin road, where a vehicle crashed into the roadside protective barriers.

According to preliminary data, the vehicle was driven by a Macedonian national traveling toward Rrogozhinë. The driver is suspected of having lost control of the vehicle after falling asleep at the wheel.

As a result of the crash, a woman and a child were injured and were transported for medical assistance. Police services arrived at the scene, while the investigation team is working to document the accident and fully clarify the circumstances. The causes of the accident remain under investigation.
