DUI: Was Deputy Director Mustafa Dauti’s Car Right Behind the Car of the Man Arrested for the 17,500-Euro Bribe?
In a press release, DUI says that after the in-flagrante arrest of the Customs Directorate’s assistant director on suspicion of taking a 17,500-euro bribe, new information is circulating in public that demands an immediate response from the police.
They ask “is it true that at the moment of the arrest, right behind the arrested person’s car was the car of the Customs deputy director, Mustafa Dauti?”
“If so, we demand the Interior Ministry clarify publicly: Who was in that car? Why was the Customs deputy director’s car at the place and moment of the arrest? Has Mustafa Dauti or the persons in his car been questioned? Is it being investigated whether the 17,500-euro case is also linked to other persons within the Customs Directorate hierarchy?”
“When an official is caught in flagrante over a tender, the investigation cannot end only with the person who took the money. The entire chain must be uncovered: who organized it, who knew, and who stood behind it. The Interior Ministry and the Prosecution have an obligation to give the public clear and complete answers,” DUI says.
