Durrës: young man arrested after threatening a 69-year-old with a Kalashnikov

A 36-year-old has been arrested by Durrës Police after threatening an elderly man with a Kalashnikov following a conflict over trivial motives.

“The services of the Durrës Police Commissariat, after receiving information about a conflict in neighbourhood no. 8, immediately organised the work to clarify the circumstances of the conflict and prevent its escalation. In the framework of the operation codenamed ‘Relatives’, citizen:

– H. Ll., 36, resident in Durrës, a citizen with a pronounced criminal record in the field of unauthorised possession of weapons and crimes against the person, was captured and arrested in flagrante. This citizen is suspected of having clashed over trivial motives with citizen E. B., 69, resident in Durrës, and then of having threatened him with a Kalashnikov firearm, which he possessed without a permit,” the police said.

During the search conducted at the home of citizen H. Ll., the police services found the Kalashnikov firearm suspected of having been used for the threat and a magazine with combat ammunition.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution at the Durrës Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, for further action.
