Elbasani to play a friendly against Struga at the weekend, an important test for Gvozdenoviç

The championship has been interrupted because of the Albanian national team’s matches, and the Superiore clubs have used the break to repair the defects noticed over the first five weeks. Friendly matches help them do that too.

Elbasani has chosen Struga as a ‘dress rehearsal’ before the championship resumes. The yellow-and-blues will play a friendly against the team from North Macedonia, in which coach Ivan Gvozdenoviç will see more clearly the state of his players. According to the Elbasan club’s announcement, the match will be played on Saturday at 16:00, on the pitch of the ‘Shefqet Lamçja’ complex.

Struga is coached by the Albanian coaches Bledi Shkëmbi and Sabien Lilaj. It is one of the best teams in the neighbouring championship, so for Elbasani it will be a meaningful test.

The yellow-and-blues resume the championship with the match against Vora. In the first five weeks they have not had the run they wanted, taking only one win and collecting six points, which places them fifth. Elbasani previously played a friendly against Sopoti of the First Category, winning 1-0.
