Fire at the ‘Feješ Klara’ elementary school in Kikinda, eight firefighters on the scene

A fire broke out shortly before 22:00 at the “Feješ Klara” elementary school in Kikinda, according to RTS cited by Newsmax Balkans. The fire started in the sports equipment room, near the school gym.

Two fire trucks and eight firefighters are on the scene, working to extinguish the flames, as Danas also reports.

The school is undergoing a complete reconstruction, works on which began in February this year. The construction site is under video surveillance, which is expected to facilitate the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

The investigation is ongoing and there are no official details yet on the extent of the material damage.

“Feješ Klara” is among the two oldest schools in Kikinda, founded in 1812, and its building enjoys state protection.
