Fire near the railway line in Aspropyrgos: suburban train traffic suspended on the Ano Liosia–Nea Peramos section

A fire has broken out near the railway line in the Aspropyrgos area of Attica, as Protothema reported today at 13:45.

According to an announcement by Hellenic Train, which cites the infrastructure manager OSE – Siderodromoi Ellados, railway traffic has been suspended since 12:41 on the Ano Liosia – Nea Peramos section, while the power supply has been cut on the Ano Liosia – Loutropyrgos section, as ERT also reports.

Train 1314 (Piraeus – Kiato) is being held at Ano Liosia station. Delays and possible timetable changes are expected for the Athens suburban railway (Proastiakos).

Hellenic Train stresses that it is in constant coordination with OSE and the competent authorities to restore traffic.

So far there are no reports of injuries, and the announcements give no information on whether the fire has been brought under control.
