Footage from the OVL-UÇK protest: hundreds of citizens join the call for a nationwide protest

The Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans’ Organization (OVL-UÇK) organized a protest in Pristina today, in opposition to the verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against the former KLA leaders.

The protest started at 12:00 at «Skënderbeu» square, with hundreds of citizens gathering.

On September 16, 2026, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague sentenced Hashim Thaçi to 25 years in prison, Jakup Krasniqi to 25 years, Kadri Veseli to 18 years and Rexhep Selimi to 13 years, for a total of 81 years.

Political figures, mostly from the ranks of the PDK, as well as family members of the former KLA leaders, were also seen at the protest called by the OVL-UÇK.

The rally is taking place at «Skënderbeu» square, and more citizens from different parts of the capital are expected to join the protest.

The protest was called by the OVL-UÇK after the first-instance verdict, while the defense teams of the convicted have announced they will appeal the decision.
