Former health minister Beqaj appears before anti-corruption court in ‘SASPAK’ case

Former health minister Ilir Beqaj appeared on Tuesday at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) in connection with the ‘SASPAK’ case proceedings. Beqaj appeared even though lawyers are boycotting the new regulation.

Ilir Beqaj was arrested in July 2024 on an order by SPAK, and the measure of “house arrest” was imposed on him. Earlier, the GJKKO and the GJKKO Appeals Court had rejected several of his requests to change the security measure. Beqaj spent two years in detention.
