“Freedom Has a Name” invites citizens to the October 1 protest, transport organized from the municipalities
The civic platform “Freedom Has a Name” has called on citizens to join the October 1 protest against the Specialist Court’s verdict on the former KLA leaders, as Telegrafi reports.
The protest, under the motto “NOT IN MY NAME”, will be held on October 1, from 4:00 p.m., in Skanderbeg Square in Pristina.
Transport to Pristina has also been organized for participants from Kosovo’s various municipalities. Buses will depart from numerous towns and settlements, and the timetables and departure points have been published by the organizers.
At a press conference, the platform’s representatives, Ismail Tasholli and Arbnora Zogiani, called on citizens to take part in the protest together with family, friends and colleagues.
Tasholli described the verdict as “unjust and unacceptable”, and asked Kosovo’s institutions to take concrete action to protect the rights of the convicted men and to continue the legal battle.
He also asked the Government and the Assembly to review and process the draft law amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers.
Zogiani, meanwhile, praised the mobilization of the Albanian diaspora and announced that a protest will also be held in Brussels on October 10.
