Names / The GJKKO Court of Appeal upholds sentences totalling some 21 years in prison for two members of the drug-trafficking group
The Special Court of Appeal has decided to leave untouched the sentences handed down at first instance for two members of the narcotics-trafficking network.
The final decision seals the convictions of citizens Gëzim Bakalli and Erjon Loci.
Both were investigated and indicted by the SPAK special prosecutor, Adnan Xholi.
They are officially charged with trafficking in narcotics and participation in a structured criminal group.
For Gëzim Bakalli, the court had originally set a sentence of 19 years in prison.
With the application of the shortened trial, he will ultimately serve 12 years and 8 months in prison.
Meanwhile, for Erjon Loci the base sentence of 12 years in prison was reduced to 8 years to be served.
With this decision of the Special Court of Appeal, the GJKKO’s ruling takes final form and remains fully in force.
