Gazmend Syla stands in solidarity with the KLA leaders: Since September 16, we too are members of the ‘Joint Criminal Enterprise’
The representative of the KLA War Veterans’ Organisation, Gazmend Syla, has spoken at the protest being held in Pristina against the convictions of the former KLA leaders by the Specialist Court in The Hague.
Syla stood in solidarity with the former KLA leaders, saying that the September 16 decision, according to him, also affects the other fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
“You forgot one epithet too, Berat. We are also members of the Joint Criminal Enterprise since September 16, from a Court that does not know what happened in the years ’98–’99 here. Shame cover them wherever they are,” Syla declared.
He described the conviction of the former KLA leaders as unjust, criticising the Specialist Court and the way in which, according to him, the KLA’s war has been treated.
“The conviction of the four KLA leaders by the Specialist Court, which belongs to everyone except Kosovo, is only the seal of shame of international justice,” Syla said.
According to him, with the sentences handed down against former leaders and former members of the KLA, the number of years of imprisonment pronounced in these processes has reached hundreds of years.
“The conviction of Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi, Selimi, Mustafa and Shala takes the number of years with which our war has been sentenced to 627 years in prison,” he added.
The protest in Pristina is being held in opposition to the decisions of the Specialist Court in The Hague and the sentences handed down against former leaders and former members of the KLA, as Telegrafi reports.
