Montenegro’s Finance Ministry: €78 million for 28 new capital projects next year

Next year’s capital budget will include 28 new projects with a total estimated value of about €78 million for multi-year financing, the Ministry of Finance announced, as Vijesti reports. On the Ministry’s proposal, the Government today approved the List of priority capital projects for financing from next year’s Capital Budget.

According to the Ministry of Finance, stable fiscal frameworks made it possible to allocate funds for new investments that will improve public infrastructure and create conditions for stronger economic growth. During the preparation of the Capital Budget, the Ministry extended the deadline for submitting project documentation — and by September 1, 172 project proposals had been submitted to the Ministry.

After the review process, the 28 projects were selected — the Ministry called this an important step in the further development of the public investment system and a confirmation that available public resources are being directed toward projects important for infrastructure development and improving citizens’ quality of life.

The Ministry thanked all spending units for their responsible approach and said it continues to strengthen the public investment management system, while maintaining the stability of public finances and creating space for new development projects in Montenegro.
