Gjini Hits Out at Gërvalla Over Attacks on the Haradinaj Family: She Has ‘Spewed Venom’ at People ‘Whose Yards Are Filled With Graves’

Alliance leader Ardian Gjini has commented on the Special Court’s ruling against the KLA leaders.

He directed sharp and direct criticism at Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla over her statements and denigrating approach toward the war leaders, particularly toward the Alliance’s honorary chairman, Ramush Haradinaj.

In this context, the Alliance leader expressed his conviction that a considerable share of the deputies and voters of Vetëvendosje are not comfortable with the situation created around the convictions in The Hague. He called for more political sincerity in defending the freedom war.

“I believe that a large, serious share of VV deputies, of VV voters, are not comfortable with what has happened. I can’t help but believe that those people understand what happened. I’m convinced a large share understands the situation, the voters and the deputies. There needs to be more sincerity in this regard. We mustn’t be afraid that, if we fight for our story of freedom, which today is being judged there, then we will have big troubles,” Gjini said on T7.

Gjini described the current institutional silence as painful, comparing Donika Gërvalla’s stance with her past political profile and her open attacks on the Haradinaj family.

“As a person, I have no respect whatsoever for Donika Gërvalla. She is the daughter of Jusuf Gërvalla, but she is not Jusuf Gërvalla. It is painful not to say a word, she has a typical portfolio. Even if Albin fires her, I don’t care about that part at all, but it is a painful indicator. At least, I say, even if you don’t love any of these people, even if you think whatever you think — does it not anger you that Serbia’s war leaders are punished less than Kosovo’s war leaders? We have seen what she knew how to spew venom at people whose yards are filled with graves,” Ardian Gjini concluded.
