Gjini on Kurti: Perhaps the only Albanian politician who wanted the Specialist Court with every cell of his body

The chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ardian Gjini, has reacted harshly to Prime Minister Albin Kurti in a Facebook post published during the protest being held outside the Assembly and the Government of Kosovo, where citizens are demanding a second-reading vote on the draft law on the Specialist Chambers, as Klan Kosova reports.

According to Klan Kosova, Gjini stated that Kurti “is perhaps the only Albanian politician who has wanted this court with every cell of his brain and his body”.

Gjini also stresses that Vetëvendosje’s failure to vote for the Specialist Court in 2015 was “pure opportunism” and not conviction, since, as he writes, LVV abstained because it was convinced the parties in power would vote for it. “The Specialist Court is the core of the reason why Kurti is in power,” Gjini is quoted as saying by Klan Kosova.

He adds that since June the Alliance had warned that Kurti would go to elections again; according to him, Kurti did not take the Alliance’s offer into account, deliberately humiliated the LDK and played games with the PDK, voted for the law in principle only today, and made the vote on the law on the Specialist Court conditional on the vote for the president.

Gjini’s post, as Klan Kosova reports, closes with the words: “We push tear gas and gunfire in the capital’s main square”, claiming that this is “chaos programmed by Kurti”.
