Protests in France, around 190 pupils injured
French Education Minister Edouard Geffray announced that at least 190 students have been injured since the start of the protests in the country. He said their injuries were caused by clashes or fireworks.
The Justice Ministry, meanwhile, announced that the number of people detained during the protests has passed 5,000. Of that figure, 4,406 were children and 654 were adults. So far only 14 individuals have been left in custody, 10 adults and four children.
Student unions have called for a national day of protest on Tuesday, with more schools expected to be blockaded. Thousands of union members, teachers, public sector workers and parent groups are expected to join support marches in cities and towns across France.
