Grbić ‘avenges’ Serbia: Poland beats Slovenia 3-0 and reaches the European volleyball final
Poland’s volleyball team, led by Serbian coach Nikola Grbić, qualified for the European Championship final after beating Slovenia 3-0 in the semifinal played at Milan’s Unipol Forum.
The Poles dominated the match from start to finish, winning the sets 25-23, 25-23 and 25-18, giving the Slovenian opponents no chance.
With this victory, Poland will defend the title won at the previous European championship, once again confirming its status as the tournament’s main favorite.
The big final is played on Saturday, where Poland will face the winner of the other semifinal, the duel between France and Finland.
For Grbić, one of the most successful Serbian coaches in world volleyball, this is another major achievement at the helm of the Polish national team.
