Gucati condemns threats against Rexhep Selimi: Political disagreement must not degrade into incitement to murder

The chairman of the KLA War Veterans’ Organization, Hysni Gucati, has condemned calls for the execution of former KLA member Rexhep Selimi.

Gucati said death threats have no place in a free Kosovo and asked the security and justice institutions to treat the case with seriousness.

“I condemn without any reservation every call for the execution of General Rexhep Selimi. Death threats have no place in the free Kosovo that the sacrifice of the KLA made possible, and no circumstance can ever justify them,” Gucati declared.

He asked the authorities to enforce the law against those responsible.

“Our security and justice institutions must treat this case with the greatest seriousness and enforce the law without hesitation,” he said.

Gucati stressed that political disagreements are part of a free society, but must not turn into incitement to violence.

“Political disagreement is the very spirit of a free nation; it must never be allowed to degrade into incitement to murder!” Gucati concluded, as Telegrafi reports.
