Official trailer released for “Re-Creation”: Jim Sheridan brings the courtroom drama led by Vicky Krieps
Kino Lorber has released the official trailer for “Re-Creation”, the courtroom thriller starring Vicky Krieps and Jim Sheridan — a modern version of the classic “12 Angry Men”, co-directed by six-time Oscar nominee Jim Sheridan (“My Left Foot”, “In the Name of the Father”, “The Field”, “In America”, “Brothers”) and David Merriman, as FirstShowing reports.
The film’s plot revolves around a fictional trial in Ireland, inspired by the real 1996 murder of French producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier. The twelve jurors must decide whether British journalist Ian Bailey, played by Colm Meaney, is guilty of the crime, while Vicky Krieps plays Juror No. 8 — the figure who challenges the courtroom consensus.
Alongside Krieps, Meaney and Sheridan himself, the cast also includes Aidan Gillen and John Connors. The film is produced by Fabrizio Maltese and Tina O’Reilly, while the original idea belongs to Sheridan himself; this is the first film project he has made together with David Merriman.
“Re-Creation” had its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival and, unlike many similar titles, has skipped a theatrical run entirely to be offered directly on VOD platforms, where it is already available to audiences.
